How to Change the Key Remote Battery on a Ford Ranger

To change the battery of the key remote for a Ford Ranger, first press the unlock button and extract the emergency mechanical key. In the gap left, insert a small flat screwdriver and lever to separate the two halves of the shell. Open the remote carefully, then locate the button battery housed in the internal compartment. Gently remove it and insert the new battery of the same type, respecting the indicated polarity. Close the remote by pressing the two parts together until they click and reinsert the mechanical key. Check the operation of the buttons.
