How to Deactivate the Electronic Handbrake on the Ford Tourneo

Let’s see how to deactivate the electronic handbrake on the Ford Tourneo: first, ensure that the handbrake is disengaged, then press and hold the accelerator pedal and the button of the electronic handbrake, then turn on the instrument panel. Within 5 seconds, turn off the panel while simultaneously releasing the accelerator pedal and the electric brake button. A message will appear on the instrument panel: "brake pad maintenance mode active". At this point, you can proceed with the replacement of the braking components. To exit service mode, turn on the panel, press and hold the instrument panel, and activate the electric brake button; without releasing them, turn off the panel, and within 5 seconds turn it back on. Release the accelerator pedal and the electric brake button, and you will hear the EPB system readjusting and self-calibrating. The message will disappear and the system will return to operation.
