This article explains how to replace the gear knob of the Ford Focus. For this operation, you will need a flathead screwdriver or the specific tool for removing the plastics, along with the new gear knob. First, pry up the lower plastic edge of the gear lever as shown in the tutorial video. Once the plastic cover is lifted, pull up the leather cover beneath the knob, then rotate the knob counterclockwise to unscrew and remove it. After removing the old gear knob, insert the new one, rotate it clockwise to screw it in, and once secured, replace the leather cover and then fix the plastic cover in its designated housing to completely secure the gear lever cover.
