The 1.0 Ecoboost 125 Hp engine typically does not consume oil significantly, as confirmed by the YouTuber. However, a small number of these engines, under certain conditions or due to known defects, may develop higher than normal oil consumption.

The video provides excellent empirical evidence; after 10,000 miles, the oil remains clear and is only 1/4 below the maximum, indicating normal consumption. There are also some units produced between 2012 and 2015 that have shown issues with piston ring seals or head gasket seals.

Generally, this small engine dislikes running cold, so very short trips where the oil does not reach operating temperature are detrimental. Always perform service strictly on schedule with the oil recommended by Ford, avoid stressing the engine with too many short trips, and frequently check the oil level.
