How to Replace the License Plate Light on a Ford Fusion 2013/2017

Let's see how to replace the license plate light on a Ford Fusion 2013/2017: the bulb is integrated into the plastic of the hatch, just above the license plate. Access it from the outside, without needing to remove any interior panels. The replacement bulb is usually a W5W, and you'll also need a small screwdriver for the clips. If you look at the license plate light, you'll find a small plastic tab (usually on the top side); unlock the light by pressing the tab inward and then pull it outward. Once unlocked, gently pull out the entire housing. Rotate the bulb socket counterclockwise to unlock it and pull it out. Insert a new bulb (without touching the glass with your fingers) and close the light assembly. Perform a test to see if it works.
