How to replace the dead battery in a Ford Focus key fob? In this video, see how to proceed. Take your key fob and remove the shell from the metal key. Once extracted, use a screwdriver to pry between the two parts of the key cover. Pry until the two covers separate; extract the dead battery with a screwdriver and take a new one of the same size and voltage. Reassemble the two parts of the cover with the buttons by pressing on the key fob until you hear the locking click. Finally, insert the shell with the metal key of the fob. Check the correct operation of the key fob.
