Replacement of Front Door Handle

Model: Ford Focus MK 1 - Years 1998-2004
Part: Handle

Using a Torx key, remove the retaining screws located at the bottom and side of the door panel. Remove the handle trim to access the screws that also need to be removed. Take off the plastic covers from the pillar and remove the window lift switch clip to detach it. Gently push the panel upwards to release it and remove it. Remove the plastic backing panel using a tool to cut through the adhesive. Once removed, access the lock. Unscrew the screws on the side of the lock and those hidden under the plastic caps to remove the outer handle. Unscrew the screws on the side of the door to remove the lock assembly. The lock will need to be extracted from its housing after disconnecting the electrical cables and the return cable.
