How to Change the Thermostat on a Focus

Model: Ford Focus MK 2, Focus 2 - Years 2004-2011

Replace the thermostat if you are sure it is faulty; do not discard parts randomly. Start by removing the thermostat housing cap bolts (located underneath the vehicle), then pull out the sealing cap and extract the coolant thermostat from its housing after removing the screws. Once the part is removed, replace it with a new one, close the housing with the cap, and tighten the securing bolts properly with all their components. Ensure that the thermostat valve is correctly inserted and mounted in the appropriate housing, then top up with new coolant. Start the vehicle and perform a test.
