Operation: How to remove and replace internal steering rods in a Ford Fiesta

This video shows us how to remove and replace the internal steering rods in a Ford Fiesta 1.4i 16v. First of all, you need to remove the steering head: unscrew the nut that supports it with a 15 mm wrench and then the lock nut with a 22 cm wrench, finally unscrew and extract the steering head. Subsequently, the clamp and the dust guard must be removed to reach the internal tie rod, which must be unscrewed and extracted with the appropriate key. Once the internal steering link is removed, you can either repair it and refit it or replace it with a new one. For reassembly, you will have to carry out the same procedure as for disassembly but in reverse.

Let's see in this short and simple guide the instructions that will allow us to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen Polo. First of all we open the front door, on the driver's side, and start pulling the opening lever of the engine hood, in order to open the lock; then let's move to the front of the vehicle and unhook the tab that we find on the central part, above the manufacturer's emblem, as shown in the video. At this point we block the bonnet with the lateral rod; then we accompany the bonnet down to close it again!
