Ford Ka - Video tutorial

Model: Ford Ka MK 1 - Years 1996-2008
Part: Bushings
Operation: Rear axle bushings replacement

Once the rear axle has been removed from the vehicle, it is necessary to remove the bushings (silent blocks) from their housings. The rubber inside them tends to yield over time due to the aging of the rubber itself, aggravated by any driving on a snow-covered road with salt. The best solution to extract the old bushings would be to heat the seat with a torch in order to make it dilate and facilitate its exit; otherwise you can proceed as in the video, making the rubber part jump and cutting the metal bushing with a hacksaw in order to make it shrink during extraction. Grease and insert the new bushings by driving them up and down and inserting the central metal bush only at the end.

How do you adjust the clutch cable on the Kia Picanto?

To be able to adjust the clutch cable of the Kia Picanto you need to open the hood so that you have access to the components inside the engine compartment: in order to reach the cable you will need to remove some components on the right side, such as the battery and the air filter. Below them you will find the clutch cable, which will have to be adjusted by screwing or loosening the bolt placed at the end of the cable. This will make the pedal harder or softer; after the adjustment, it will be possible to assemble all the components by closing the hood.
