How to Replace the Key Battery of a Ford Mustang

Model: Ford Mustang MK 6, S550 - Years 2015-2023

Start by pressing and holding the button located on the top side of the key for your Ford Mustang, then remove the back cover of the key. Next, extract the physical emergency key inside. Once done, use a flathead screwdriver to pry and remove the internal section of the key. This will give you access to the exhausted battery. Proceed to extract the battery from its housing, and the disassembly will be complete. To fit the new battery and close the key, simply reverse these instructions, and you will have completed the replacement.
