Check Starter Motor Function

Once you have removed the starter motor and secured it in a vice, you can check its function using a battery. In any case, once disassembled, it is always useful to take it apart to clean it, check the wear on the brushes, clean the collector of mica dust from the brushes, and grease the gear system. Additionally, if the pinion appears worn, it can be purchased aftermarket and replaced: ensure the diameter and number of teeth match before disassembly. To replace it, simply remove the circlip located at the front and then fit a new one.
