Once the starter motor has been removed, the items to check are the brushes, the armature collector, the gears, the stator magnets and the solenoid. Many spare parts are also readily available in the after market; during the assembly phase, after a thorough cleaning of the various pieces, grease the gears, clean the armature collector from the dust residues of the brushes, install a new brush holder and complete the assembly by checking that there is no excessive play between the armature shaft and guide bushing. At the end of the assembly it is suggested to perform a test run on the bench using a battery before installing it on the car.

Fiat Ducato 2.8 JTD gearbox oil replacement

Let's see in this guide the main steps to be able to change the transmission oil of the second series Fiat Ducato, with 2.8 JTD engine. First of all we lift the car and go to locate the gear oil vent bolt, which we find near the transmission; we use a hex wrench to unscrew it, letting it drain the old oil in a container for about ten minutes. At this point we open the bonnet and remove the air intake sleeve, so as to be able to access the gearbox oil filling hole; then we fill up to the maximum level!
