Check Starter Motor Functionality

Once the starter motor is removed, check the brushes, the armature commutator, the gears, the stator magnets, and the solenoid. Many spare parts are also readily available in the aftermarket; during assembly, after thoroughly cleaning the various parts, grease the gears, clean the armature commutator of brush dust, install a new brush holder, and complete the assembly ensuring there is no excessive play between the armature shaft and the guide bush. After assembly, it is recommended to perform a bench test using a battery before installing it in the vehicle.
