How to Replace the Battery in a Ford Fiesta 5 1.4 TDCi

To replace the battery in a Ford Fiesta 5 1.4 TDCi, first, get inside the vehicle to pull the bonnet release lever. Once the engine bay is open, secure the bonnet with the prop rod and locate the battery, which is situated on the right side of the engine compartment. Using a 10mm socket, unscrew the battery support bar and move it aside; then disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal. At this point, you can remove the battery; clean the inside of the terminals by scraping with sandpaper to remove any oxidation. Take the new battery, remove the protections, and apply copper grease to the terminals to improve contact with the cables and prevent oxidation. Finally, insert the new battery and, using the 10mm socket, reattach the positive terminal first, then the negative terminal. To finish, screw the battery support bar back in place.
