In order to replace the exterior rear-view mirror on the Ford Explorer, you need to detach the triangular plastic cover located inside the door, near the mirror. Once this cover has been removed, you can unscrew the underlying bolts and subsequently also disconnect the connector. This will allow the mirror to be detached from the outside of the car, so that a new one is inserted: the latter must be connected to the connector and fixed with the appropriate bolts, covering everything with the triangular panel.
