Ford Focus - Video tutorial

Model: Ford Focus MK 3 - Years 2011-2018
Part: Diesel filter
Operation: How to change the fuel filter on a Ford Focus III

In this video, we can see how to change the diesel filter on a Ford Focus MK 3 version. We open the hood, then remove the engine cover, and the diesel filter is right underneath, but we need to remove the protective plate and the support bar of the engine cover. It will be necessary to disconnect the electrical connector, then we can remove the protective plate. Once the diesel hoses are removed, we immediately place absorbent cloth to catch any dripping diesel. Then, using a socket wrench, we unscrew the flange from the filter. We will need a basin to collect the diesel contained in the filter, then with a flathead screwdriver, we remove the filter by pulling it up from the edge and placing it in the basin. Now we need to drain the diesel from the filter container, which we will then clean with an absorbent cloth. Now we take the new filter and lubricate the gasket of the cover with clean oil, then insert the new filtering element. We fill the filter with diesel and screw the cover back on. We reattach the diesel inlet and outlet hoses, put the electrical connector and the filter protection bracket back in place, and close the engine cover. Job done.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
