How to Change the Diesel Filter on a Ford Focus III

In this video, you can see how to change the diesel filter on a Ford Focus MK3: open the bonnet, then remove the engine cover, and the diesel filter is right underneath. You need to remove the protective plate and the support bar for the engine cover; it will be necessary to disconnect the electrical connector before you can take off the protective plate. Once the diesel pipes are removed, place an absorbent cloth to catch any diesel that may spill. Then, using a socket spanner, unscrew the flange from the filter. You will need a container to catch the diesel from the filter, then use a flat screwdriver to pull the filter up from the edge and place it in the container. Now, you need to siphon the diesel from the filter housing, which you will then clean with an absorbent cloth. Next, take the new filter and lubricate the seal of the cover with clean oil, then insert the new filter element. Fill the filter with diesel and reattach the cover. Reconnect the inlet and outlet diesel pipes, replace the electrical connector and the protective bracket for the filter, and close the engine cover. Job done.
