How to Replace the Steering Wheel of a Ford Focus

First, open and lift the bonnet to disconnect the battery cables to prevent the airbag from deploying during your work. Safety must always come first. Now you can start working on the steering by removing the bolts located at the back of the steering wheel. This will allow you to extract the front part of the steering wheel and disconnect the connectors at its rear. Centre the steering wheel and remove the key to lock it in place. Now remove the large bolt at the centre of the steering wheel, and you can safely extract the steering wheel.
