In this tutorial, you will see how to remove the starter motor from a Ford Transit van, a very simple and quick operation. First, ensure that the key is not inserted, then open the bonnet and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

Next, locate the starter motor situated in the lower front area and disconnect the power leads using a 13mm socket and a 10mm socket. At this point, undo the two fixing bolts with the 13mm spanner, separate the starter motor from its mount, and fit the replacement by following the reverse procedure.
