The cause is direct injection, but mainly short journeys, and the solutions are more frequent oil changes (even every 3,000 miles) and, if possible, a software update for the ECU. Models with the 1.5T 2.0L engine with CVT transmission have issues with vibrations, noises, and slipping due to overheating or degraded fluid: the solution is to replace the CVT fluid every 37,000 miles and to drive avoiding harsh acceleration. For versions with manual transmission, the clutch tends to wear out prematurely if driven aggressively: Regarding electronics and sensors, the EGR valve can clog easily, especially on diesels. Honda Jazz and HR-V models prior to 2015 suffer from rust, particularly in the wheel arches and underbody.
