How to Change Engine Oil and Filter in a Honda Civic

To replace the engine oil and filter in a Honda Civic, park the car on a flat surface and safely lift it to access the underside of the engine. Position a tray under the oil sump, open the filler cap in the engine bay, and unscrew the drain bolt located under the sump. Allow the used oil to drain completely, then refit the bolt, checking the seal. Locate the oil filter, unscrew it with the appropriate tool, and remove it from its housing. Before fitting the new filter, lightly lubricate the seal with clean oil and screw it on until properly tightened. Pour the new oil through the top opening, adhering to the quantity specified for the engine. Check the level with the dipstick and adjust if necessary. Start the engine for a few seconds, turn it off, and check for any leaks around the filter or drain bolt.
