Removal and Replacement of the Oil Filter

Model: Honda Civic MK 8 - Years 2006-2012

After draining all the oil from the sump, proceed to remove the oil filter. Use a strap wrench: tighten the strap around the base of the filter, which is positioned vertically and accessible from underneath the car. When unscrewing the filter, check for any residual oil still in the filter. Once the filter is removed, wait for all the oil to drain out, then proceed to install the new one: clean the seating where the filter screws in, lubricate the seal with oil, and refit it using the strap wrench.
