How to Replace the Oil Filter and Engine Oil on the Honda Civic MK8

Here’s how to change the engine oil and filter on the Honda Civic MK8: open the filler cap, lift the vehicle, and remove the engine cover, then unscrew the oil sump cap. Position a large container to collect the used oil, which you will dispose of properly at an authorised centre. While the oil drains, use a suitable spanner to remove the filter from its housing, keeping a container ready to catch the oil that will also come out from here. Place the new filter in position and then replace the sump cap with its new gasket. Refit the engine cover and lower the vehicle. Refill with the recommended oil to 90% of the required quantity, run the engine for a couple of minutes to fill the filter, then check the level. Add the missing quantity and measure again until reaching the "max" mark on the dipstick.
