How to Check an ABS Sensor with a Multimeter

The video demonstrates how to quickly test an ABS sensor to verify if it functions correctly using a multimeter. This is useful for diagnosing ABS issues without immediately taking the car to a garage.

To perform a continuity test, set the multimeter to Ohms, and connect the probes to the two pins of the ABS sensor. The value should be in the thousands of Ohms: significantly different values or "OL" (open circuit) indicate a faulty sensor.

To perform a signal generation test, set the multimeter to DC Volts; keep the probes connected to the sensor and quickly pass a metal object in front of the sensor tip (where the magnet is located): the multimeter should show a small voltage each time the metal object passes.

This test verifies the sensor but does not rule out issues with the tone ring or wiring.

To remove the rear seat of a Hyundai Tucson, follow these steps. Start by moving the front seats to their most forward position to gain space. Next, locate the release lever on the underside of the rear seat, near the floor. Press this lever down while pulling the seat upwards to unlock it from the anchor pins.
