Here’s how to reset the service light on a Honda HR-V: insert the key to turn on the ignition, but keep the engine off. On the dashboard display, use the buttons at the bottom to navigate. Scroll down until you find "vehicle settings" and select it. Scroll down again and look for "maintenance information" and select it. Now select "reset". The display will show "reset complete". Turn off the ignition.

The reset does not require diagnostic tools or connection to the onboard computer, but uses a digital display with a scrolling menu.
