How to Replace a Rear Wheel Bearing

This video shows you how to replace the rear wheel bearing on a Honda Civic. First, lift the car with a jack. Use a power tool to remove the wheel nuts and take off the wheel. Now, remove the small circular cover from the drum hub; you can use a hammer and a screwdriver as a chisel to help with this. During this operation, it is better to engage the handbrake to prevent the hub from turning. You will need to release the handbrake if you want to remove the drum. Use an air compressor to clean the inside of the drum from dust. To remove the hub nut, you will need a power tool with a 19 mm socket. After removing the hub nut, you can take out the old bearing and the washer around the nut. Now, you can finally insert the new bearing (remember to reposition the washer around the hub nut), reinsert the nut, and tighten it. The new bearing is installed!
