How to Replace, Repair or Modify Rear Drum Brakes

This video shows how to replace the rear drum brakes of the Honda Civic. After lifting the vehicle on a ramp, unscrew the securing bolts and remove the rear wheel. Slide off the drum. Using pliers, unclip the return springs; by pressing on one end, also disconnect the actuator cylinder, then, with the pliers, detach the retaining clips and remove the shoes. Apply some anti-seize paste at the contact points, then reposition one shoe; temporarily place one spring and also fit the second shoe, then, pulling them with the pliers, attach both return springs. Finally, refit the drum and reassemble the wheel.
