How to Remove and Replace an Airbag

Model: Honda Civic MK 6 - Years 1995-2001

This video illustrates how to remove the airbag installed in the steering wheel of a Honda Civic. First, disconnect the battery; the battery must have been disconnected for at least three minutes before the airbag is removed. After removing the small plastic cover located behind the steering wheel, use a ratchet to unscrew the security Torx screw and, using your hands, detach the front cover of the steering wheel. Now disconnect the electrical connection (the yellow one) and the black ones located at the front. Once the airbag block is removed, take a new one and reconnect the connections you previously disconnected. Finally, reposition the block as it was before.
