Instructions for Replacing Rear Shock Absorber

Model: Honda Accord MK 6 - Years 1998-2002

First, lift the vehicle on the ramp, then remove the rear seats to access the mounting nuts of the shock absorber stem: the seat detaches easily, while to remove the backrest, you need to release the securing clip with the ignition key; once the backrest is removed, you must also take off the underlying plastic trim. After this, unscrew the mounting pins of the shock absorber support and lift the vehicle on the ramp. At this point, remove the rear wheel and then the mounting pin of the shock absorber to the hub support. Once the shock absorber complete with spring is removed, use special clamps to compress the spring, remove the upper support and extract the old shock absorber to replace it with the new one, applying the relevant dust cover. Then reverse the process for installation.
