Replacing Front Brake Pads

Model: Honda Civic MK 8 - Years 2006-2012

Lift the vehicle on suitable axle stands and remove the front wheel (loosen the wheel nuts before lifting it). Then unscrew the retaining pins of the brake caliper (it is sufficient to unscrew the lower pin and use the upper one as a hinge to lift the caliper); remove the old pads and sliding shims; clean the disc thoroughly, insert the new shims (always included in the new pads kit) applying copper grease; finally, insert the new pads, retract the caliper piston using a C-clamp (there is no need to open the bleed screw) and refit it.
