On the Honda Civic, the boot lid may become stuck, for example, due to a problem with the control button or the lock actuator. In such cases, perform the emergency opening by following the simple procedure shown in this tutorial.

First, open the rear doors, then lower the backrest of the seat by operating the relevant lever. Next, go inside the boot, remove the indicated cover, and using a flat-head screwdriver, unlock the mechanism.

The boot lid will now be free to open.
