Replacing the original engine air filter with a sports type improves performance: the special filter mesh, usually made of cotton fibres, allows a greater airflow, meaning the ECU will adjust the corresponding fuel flow, benefiting torque; an additional advantage, besides performance, is that this type of filter does not need to be replaced but simply washed with the appropriate cleaner: it is important to let it dry without blowing with compressed air and then apply the oil that saturates the fibres and enhances the filtering capacity.
