This guide explains how to replace the timing belt on the Hyundai I40. To carry out the replacement, you must remove the right wheel and the wheel arch liner to access the engine where the timing belt is located. Remove the crankshaft pulley with a torque of 170-180 Nm. Loosen the belt tensioner to remove the old belt. Position the new belt by mounting the crankshaft sprocket and aligning the camshaft. Adjust the tension of the tensioner according to the manufacturer's specifications and manually rotate the crankshaft for two complete turns. Refit the components.
