Location of the Air Flow Sensor (MAF) on the Hyundai i20

On the Hyundai i20, the air flow sensor is not a classic MAF but a MAP sensor (manifold absolute pressure) located directly on the intake manifold. It is in an easily accessible area, without needing to remove other components. To locate it, open the bonnet and look at the intake manifold, near the throttle valve. The sensor is a small component with an electrical connector and a fixing screw. Simply unscrew the single bolt (usually a Torx or a 10 mm socket) to remove it from its seat. Once removed, disconnect the connector and the sensor is free. Cleaning or replacing it is quick and does not require special tools. Be careful not to damage the rubber gasket during reassembly. Before restarting, ensure the connector is properly inserted. The MAP sensor is essential for calculating the air-fuel mixture: a malfunction can cause power loss and high fuel consumption.
