An Issue with the Throttle Body on Hyundai and Kia Turbodiesel

The issue is demonstrated on a Hyundai Tucson engine, a (U2/L) engine that the same YouTuber describes as very reliable; the only problem is with the throttle body, which presents symptoms such as the engine light being on, power loss, and the diagnosis showing the error "throttle valve - incorrect position". The cause is the accumulation of oil vapours in the intake system, which dirty the throttle valve and cause it to stick. The first visual sign is the electrical connector stained with oil. The solution is to remove the throttle body from the intake, open it by removing the torx screws, and clean both the electrical part (the cover) and the mechanical part (the gears and the throttle). On the latter, check for any broken teeth in the gears; apply specific grease to them; reassemble the components and perform the throttle learning via diagnostics. As a preventive measure, periodically check the crankcase ventilation system (PCV). In case of recurrence, consider installing an oil/air separator filter to reduce oil vapours in the intake.
