Using the Auxiliary Battery on the Hyundai Kona

The Kona Electric has two battery systems: the high-voltage battery for propulsion and a small 12-volt battery for lighting, wiper operation, and all other electrical accessories that the vehicle normally uses. The vehicle automatically monitors the charge level of the smaller battery, which is recharged by the traction battery if the 12-volt level becomes low. When this occurs, a warning light illuminates in the Hyundai emblem at the front of the vehicle. A warning light may also illuminate if you are using the air conditioning; it warns you that if you are using battery saving mode, this may operate with the traction battery.
