Replacing Hydraulic Struts

Is your boot lid not holding up anymore? It's all due to the hydraulic struts that are supposed to support it; they may have leaked and need replacing. Nothing could be simpler and quicker. Start by placing something to hold the boot lid open. Now, using a flat screwdriver, lever out the thick plastic ring to remove them from the spherical head where they are secured from both the top and bottom. Now, simply take the new strut and position it as the old one was. Repeat the operation for the strut that supports the boot lid on the other side.

How to Open the Bonnet on the Lancia Y
