To replace the key battery of a Jeep Cherokee, start by removing the emergency key from the main key by pressing the rear button. Next, pry off the rear cover of the key. You may need to use a flat screwdriver or a similar object to gently lift the rear cover and open it. Once opened, you will have access to the battery inside the key. Carefully remove the old battery and replace it with a new one of the same type and model, ensuring correct polarity.

Make sure the battery is properly positioned and that the rear cover of the key is reinserted correctly. Close the key and reinsert the emergency key. Check that the new battery works correctly by using the key to lock and unlock the car.
