Replacing the Air Filter on a Jeep Compass

To replace the air filter on a Jeep Compass, follow these instructions. Open the bonnet and remove the plastic cover of the battery by turning the securing pins 180°. You now have access to the air filter box, which you can open by unhooking the two side springs by pulling them outward; remove the old cartridge and replace it with a new one as specified by the manufacturer (be careful to insert the filter with the arrow printed on the edge facing the correct direction). You can now reattach the two springs and reapply the plastic cover of the battery.
