How Adaptive Cruise Control Works on the Jeep Avenger

The adaptive cruise control on the Jeep Avenger is controlled by buttons on the left spoke of the steering wheel. To activate it, press the assistance button; the system activates, and if it detects a vehicle ahead (or an obstacle), it indicates this on the display. With the "set" button, you can adjust the safety distance (short, medium, long). Use the up/down buttons to modify the cruising speed in increments of 1 mph. Once in motion, pressing "OK" activates the cruise at the current speed. The car maintains the pace and, if it detects another vehicle, brakes automatically to avoid contact, keeping the set distance. If you change gear or press the clutch or brake, the system pauses (grey icon). To reactivate it, simply press "OK" again, and the car accelerates to the set value. It is very useful on the motorway, less so on busy rural roads. The system also reads speed limits and can adapt automatically.
