How to replace the service and timing kit in the Jeep Cherokee?

Today, I will explain how to replace the service and timing kit in the Jeep Cherokee. To perform the replacement, we must first disconnect the battery. Lift the vehicle and remove the front right wheel and the wheel arch to access the belt. Drain the coolant and replace the water pump. Remove the engine cover and dismantle the service belt and alternator; then remove the timing cover. Manually rotate the crankshaft to the top dead centre of cylinder 1 and check the alignment with the references on the crankshaft and camshaft. Loosen the tensioner and remove the old belt, then remove the tensioner pulley and water pump. Install the new water pump using new gaskets and mount the tensioner pulley in the correct order. Fit the new timing belt and tension it correctly. Rotate the engine by hand for two complete turns and check that the references align. Reattach the accessory cover previously removed and pour coolant into the reservoir. Reconnect the battery and start the engine to check for any anomalies; check for leaks and the coolant level before hitting the road.
