How Does the Electric Tailgate of the Jeep Compass Work?

In Jeep Compass models produced from 2016 onwards, the rear tailgate can be opened without using the key. To open the tailgate, simply keep the key in your pocket or close to the vehicle and pass a foot under the car. A sensor will detect the movement and allow the tailgate to open; to close it, perform the same action. This is made possible by a mechanism consisting of two pistons for opening and closing, a control unit, and an internal button.
