How to Change the Key Fob Battery on a Kia Sportage

To replace the battery in the key fob of the Kia Sportage, locate the small lever on the back of the fob to extract the mechanical key. Press the lever and remove the key. Next, locate the back cover of the fob and gently pry it open with the key itself or a small flat screwdriver in the indicated slot. Inside, you will find the button battery, usually a CR2032 type. Remove the dead battery, taking care of its position and polarity. Insert the new battery respecting the correct orientation and close the fob by pressing the two halves together until they click, reinsert the mechanical key, and press the buttons to ensure the fob works correctly by opening and closing the vehicle.
