How to remove the fuel pump on a Kia Picanto?

Model: Kia Picanto MK 3, JA - Years 2018-2026

Start this operation by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery: the pump is located under the rear seat (but depending on the production year, it could also be under the cover in the boot). Clean the area around the cover thoroughly to prevent dirt from falling into the tank; disconnect the electrical connector and then disconnect the fuel line. The pump cover is secured with a locking ring (3 clips to push simultaneously). Be careful: there is a spring underneath that pushes the pump upwards. Disconnect the internal electrical connectors (one for the pump and one for the float) and remove the pump. In the video, the issue is a crack in the plastic tube of the cover, not the pump. The cover was sourced from the second-hand market, and once replaced, you can reinstall the pump assembly in the tank, ensuring the float is oriented correctly (arrow pointing up). Refit the locking ring, reconnect the hoses and the connector, and attempt to start the engine. The first time, just turn the key without starting the engine to fill the fuel lines.
