How the Kia Smart Tailgate Works

This video explains how the smart tailgate functions on Kia vehicles. To activate this feature, go to the instrument cluster and enable the "smart tailgate" function, which is an additional feature of the electric tailgate. Once activated, simply position yourself behind the tailgate (with the smart key) and it will automatically open after 3 seconds, without any further action, indicated by 3 flashes of the indicators. Pressing the tailgate button on the smart key will interrupt the action. The tailgate can be opened electrically from the handle, from inside, or by using the smart key button, and it can be closed in the same ways. A very useful feature is the height setting for opening, which is helpful if you have a low-height box: position the tailgate at the desired height, press the close button for at least three seconds, and close it after the beep. Upon reopening, the tailgate will stop at the preset height.
