How to Replace the Gear Gaiter on the Lancia Ypsilon

If the gear gaiter is damaged or broken and cannot be repaired, simply unbutton the buttons at the top to flip the gaiter over. After removing the last button on the collar, you can completely take off the gaiter. Also, remove the ring at the base. Now you can proceed to replace the various removed parts. If it is not present on the new gaiter to be installed, you will need to extract the counter ring located at the base of the leather gaiter. Now all that’s left is to reassemble everything with the new parts by retracing the steps in reverse for reassembly.
