In this video, we see how to install the SWR cover on the back of the Land Rover Defender: this will be useful if we want to use the vehicle in the city and therefore want to get rid of the bulky spare wheel at the rear. First, we need to remove the internal shell of the tailgate by removing all the screws around it. Now we need to remove the rear spare wheel by taking off the bolts that hold it in place. Next, we remove the rubber support by taking off all the bolts that attach it to the tailgate, both from the outside and then from the inside. Along with the SWR cover (which you can find on swr.com in two versions: paintable for 369.00 euros or satin black for 399.00 euros), there are detailed instructions for installation and covering the bolted parts. Then, reassemble the internal shell and the job is done.
