In this video, see how to install the SWR cover on the back of the Land Rover Defender. This will be useful if you want to use the vehicle in the city and need to remove the bulky rear spare tire. First, remove the inner shell of the tailgate by taking out all the screws around it. Next, remove the rear spare tire by loosening the bolts that hold it in place. Now, take off the tire support by removing all the bolts that secure it to the tailgate, first from the outside, then from the inside. Along with the SWR cover (available at swr.com in two versions: paintable for $369.00 or in satin black for $399.00), you will find detailed installation instructions for covering the bolted parts. Then, reattach the inner shell, and the job is done.
