On a Lexus ES, the fuel door may get stuck, possibly due to a fault with the control button or the lock actuator. In this case, you can perform an emergency opening by following the procedure shown in this video.

First, open the boot, then locate the small circular cap on the right wall and remove it. Next, grasp the indicated white lever and pull it towards the rear of the vehicle to unlock the latch. At this point, you can refuel and repair the faulty component.
