How to Change the Third Brake Light Glass on a Lincoln MKX

Model: Lincoln Mkx MK 1 - Years 2007-2015

To replace the third brake light on our Lincoln MKX (or Ford Edge), you will need a plastic pry tool and a screwdriver. Start by removing the two screws on the sides of the light assembly. It won't come off just by removing the screws, so you need to use the pry tool to gently and firmly pull it off. Once it is off, you will see that there are plastic clips holding the light assembly in place, and one connector for the electrical part on the right and one on the left. Remove both. With the new piece, connect the left connector first and then the right, snap the glass back into its supports, and reattach the two screws in their place. The job is done.
