Having a sunroof on a vehicle is a real pleasure. However, it must be maintained carefully to avoid becoming a nuisance and a source of trouble for the vehicle. The first thing to do is keep it clean to prevent scratches and cloudiness. Maintenance of the rubber seal is crucial, as it is the barrier between you and water leaks. It should be kept clean with a specific rubber degreaser like WD-40 ($10.38 + shipping on Amazon) and must be periodically treated with a product like Liqui-Moly 1538 ($9.72 + shipping on Amazon). Spray it and let it sit for a while (judge for yourself when it has regained softness). Then, get a small brush and clean the inside of the seal, inserting the brush into it. Now, slide the sunroof back. Use a cotton swab to clean the inside of the seal, as shown in the video, to remove accumulated dirt, and do the same in the track where the sunroof slides, possibly using a clean rag. You need to remove all accumulations of dirt, grease, oil, or limescale that you see between the seals and on the track. Use WD-40 to assist you. One last thing; on the plastic parts, use a rejuvenator, such as Arexsons Polish Rinnovante ($11.90 + shipping) on Amazon.
