Lincoln Mkt - Video tutorial

Model: Lincoln Mkt MK 1 - Years 2010-2019
Part: Bodywork
Operation: How to keep the panoramic roof of the Lincoln MKT efficient.

Having a panoramic roof on a car is a true pleasure. However, it must be maintained carefully if we do not want it to become a hassle for us and a source of trouble for the car. The first thing to do is to always keep it clean, to avoid scratches and opacification. Essential is the maintenance of the rubber, which is the barrier between us and water infiltration. It must be kept clean with a specific rubber degreaser such as WD-40 (€ 10.38 + shipping on Amazon) and above all, it must be periodically treated with a treatment like Liqui-Moly's 1538 (€ 9.72 + shipping on Amazon). Spray it and let it work for some time (judge for yourself when it has regained softness). Then get a brush for a few euros and clean the seal internally, inserting the brush inside it. Now slide the roof back. Clean the inside of the seal with a cotton swab, as shown in the video, to remove accumulated dirt, and do the same in the guide where the roof slides, perhaps using a clean cloth. You must remove all the accumulated dirt, grease, oil or lime that you see between the seals and on the guide. Use WD-40 to help you. Last thing; on the plastic parts, use a renovator, such as Arexsons Polish Renovator (€ 11.90 + shipping) on Amazon.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
