How to Change the Engine Air Filter in a Mazda CX-5

To change the engine air filter in a Mazda CX-5, turn off the engine and open the bonnet. Locate the air filter box in the engine bay, connected to the intake duct. Unclip the metal clips on the sides of the airbox and carefully lift the top of the box without forcing any connected hoses or wiring. Remove the old filter, noting its orientation. Clear any leaves, dust, or debris from the bottom of the housing, ensuring nothing enters the intake duct. Insert the new filter in the same position, checking that the edge fits snugly all around. Lower the airbox cover and secure all clips. Finally, start the engine and check that the duct and box are properly closed.
